Ocular and adnexal anomalies in craniofacial microsomia: Type and prevalence in a multicentre cohort study

The aim of this multicentre retrospective cohort study was to describe and categorize the types ocular adnexal anomalies seen in patients with craniofacial microsomia (CFM) determine their prevalence. In addition, relationship between OMENS-Plus Pruzansky–Kaban classification for each patient presence investigated. A total 881 CFM from four different centres were included. Data on gathered charts. Ocular present 33.9% patients. Four subgroups identified. Type I 22.2%, type II 19.0%, III 18.4%, IV 14.5%. Several potentially preventable treatable Higher orbit soft tissue scores mandible associated an increased risk anomalies. Based these results clinical implications may have, we underline importance targeted ophthalmological screening CFM. Healthcare professionals should be aware possibility patients, especially during critical period visual development.
